DESCRIPTION
Join Trespasser in Marfa, Texas to cultivate your photographic work in a unique and remote high desert setting. This course will include long-form critiques of each attendee’s work, artist/publisher lectures, in-depth Q&A sessions, and more. We aim to offer insight and practical solutions tailored to your project’s specific needs. We’ll discuss process and what it takes to create a meaningful body of work. As photobook makers, we’re ultimately drawn to how photography is used on the page to relay emotional, narrative, and conceptual significance. Much of the workshop will be about photobook editing and sequencing, with further presentations on design, materials, printing, and construction. Attendees will also gain advice on how to pursue publication, whether that’s through an established art imprint or forging your path in self-publishing. In addition to the planned curriculum, during downtime students can expect to have informal yet consequential conversations over meals and drinks, gaining unfiltered access into our practice.

This four-day course costs $1500 USD. A 50% deposit is required upon acceptance to secure your spot, with the balance due by May 20, 2025. Travel, accommodation, and meals are not included.
